It’s been two years since we’ve had a new Marvel Studios movie to look forward to on the big screen, and with Black Widow just days away from its release, actor Stephen Dorff has raised the hackles of Marvel fans everywhere by trashing the film and expressing his embarrassment for star Scarlett Johansson.

“I still hunt out the good shit because I don’t want to be in Black Widow,” said Dorff. “It looks like garbage to me. It looks like a bad video game. I’m embarrassed for those people. I’m embarrassed for Scarlett! I’m sure she got paid five, seven million bucks, but I’m embarrassed for her. I don’t want to be in those movies. I really don’t. I’ll find that kid director that’s gonna be the next Kubrick and I’ll act for him instead.”

As it happens, Dorff is perhaps still best known for his role as the villainous vampire Deacon Frost in 1998’s Marvel movie Blade; however, since then he’s been hunting out the good shit like Alone in the Dark, Immortals, Leatherface and Sex Guaranteed.

In Marvel Studios’ action-packed spy thriller “Black Widow,” Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.

Black Widow is directed by Cate Shortland (Lore) and sees Scarlett Johansson reprising her role as Natasha Romanoff alongside William Hurt as Thaddeus Ross, Florence Pugh (Fighting With My Family) as Yelena Belova, O-T Fagbenle (The Handmaid’s Tale) as Mason, David Harbour (Stranger Things) as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Rachel Weisz (The Favourite) as Melina Vostokoff/Iron Maiden and Ray Winstone (Sexy Beast) as Dreykov.
