It looks like Michael Bay is eying his next project, with Discussing Film reporting that the Bad Boys and Transformers helmer is in talks to direct Ambulance, a remake of the 2005 Danish psychological thriller from director Laurits Munch-Petersen.

The original film follows a veteran who is drawn into a bank robbery by his brother, and when the heist goes wrong they find themselves taking hostages and hijacking an ambulance. With the situation escalating, old wounds between the brothers reopen as they fight to survive what seems an impossible situation.

According to the site’s report, should Bay close his deal to sign on, it is expected that Sony will pick up the project and produce as part of the studio’s overall deal with the director. Filming would then get underway early in the New Year.
